Comrades Hongdi He met with me when working in the editorial department of “Volunteers on the 1st” in the mid-1950s. At that time I heard that he joined the New Fourth Army at the age of 13 and was on the front line of the Anti-Japanese War. His work was not only good at writing but also drawing and preparing for the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Therefore, everyone said he was young and qualified ,versatile. However, at that time were busy writing, and did not see how many works of art. Recently, I was very surprised to see the “Painting Notes: War · People” that has been released by the People’s Liberation Army Literature and Art Publishing House for the culmination of several decades of fine art. Although I am an amateur in art, I can not refrain from talking about it
