2005年8月25日,中国注册会计师协会发布了《2005年度注册会计师行业英语及综合能力测试报名简章》。在中注协针对这次测试答记者问时提到,举办这次考试的目的是从现有的执业注册会计师中筛选一批培养对象,在行业高层次人才培养的各个环节,为这些培养对象提供更多的、更有针对性的培训机会,持续跟踪培养,使之更快地成长。同时,通过这种测试,也便于中注协了解和掌握参考人员的基本情况,按照“缺什么补什么”的原则,开展有针对性的培训。一石激起千层浪。对于这个测试,相关人士褒贬不一。但是支持也好,反对也罢,2005年度注册会计师行业英语及综合能力测试的笔试测试还是于11月6日在北京、上海、成都和厦门四个考区如期举行了。据统计,全国共有754人参加报名并实施了现场确认。其中,35岁以下的占68.57%,本科及本科以上学历的占78.51%,部门经理及以上人员占71.36%。全国实际出考人数683人,出考率达90.6%。
