青藏铁路指西宁至拉萨的铁路。其中西宁至格尔木段814公里已于1984年建成通车;新建的格尔木至拉萨段1142公里中,新建1100公里,改造32公里,设计输送能力为客车8对,单向货流密度500万吨。2001年6月29日,青藏铁路开工建设,总工期6年,2006年将全线试通车。通车后,从北京到拉萨只需50小时,兰州到拉萨只需20多个小时。今年8月5日,青藏铁路全线6900孔桥梁预制工作圆满结束,比原计划提前30天完成制梁任务,为确保10月底铺轨到拉萨创造了条件。
The Qinghai-Tibet Railway refers to the railway from Xining to Lhasa. Among them, 814 kilometers from Xining to Golmud have been opened to traffic in 1984; in the newly built Golmud-Lhasa section of 1142 kilometers, 1,100 kilometers were newly built and 32 kilometers were reconstructed. The designed transportation capacity is 8 pairs of passenger cars, and the one-way cargo density is 5 million tons. On June 29, 2001, the construction of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway began. The total construction period was six years. In 2006, the entire line will be commissioned. After opening to traffic, it takes only 50 hours from Beijing to Lhasa and only 20 hours from Lanzhou to Lhasa. On August 5 of this year, the 6900-hole bridge prefabrication work on the Qinghai-Tibet Railway was completed successfully. The task of making beams was completed 30 days earlier than originally planned. This ensured the conditions for laying tracks to Lhasa at the end of October.
