三、方案讨论以单堆生产军用核材料的能力为基础,对新生产堆堆型的各种方案的特点进行了研究和比较。一些主要堆型(即现在的轻水堆,快通量试验装置或克林奇河增殖堆和重水堆)的定性比较结果列于表4。具有相当潜力的上述候选方案也都能发电并具有核材料的生产、产品数量、质量等方面的灵活性。尽管分析还不够全面,但通过对环境影响、安全和燃料循环的经济性等主要问题的分析,结论都是一样的。
III. Discussion of the Program Based on the ability to produce military nuclear materials in a single pile, the characteristics of various schemes for new production reactor types were studied and compared. The qualitative comparisons of some major reactor types (ie, current light water reactors, fast flux test units or the Clinch River breeder reactors and heavy water reactors) are shown in Table 4. The above-mentioned alternatives with considerable potential also generate electricity and have flexibility in the production of nuclear materials, product quantity, and quality. Although the analysis is not comprehensive enough, the conclusions are the same through analysis of major issues such as environmental impact, safety, and fuel economy.
