Objective To understand the abnormalities of peripheral white blood cell count in medical radiation workers and provide a scientific basis for better radiological protection. Methods The occupational health monitoring data of 690 medical radiation workers exposed to ionizing radiation in Huaian City in 2014 were analyzed statistically. Taking the leucocyte count below 4.0 × 109 / L as an abnormality, 200 healthy food and beverage employees were selected as the control group, WBC abnormalities were compared between the two groups. Results Compared with the control group, the number of leukocytes in the medical radiation group was statistically significant (P <0.01). There was no significant difference in the abnormal rate of leucocyte among different age and sex workers (P> 0.05). There was a significant difference in the abnormal rate of leucocytes among different trades (P <0.05). Conclusion Long-term low-dose ionizing radiation has a certain impact on the health of medical radiation workers, and should pay close attention to and strengthen the protection.
