近几年,为了加速培养英语专业人才,我校陆续聘任了英、美籍教师授课。从多次听取英、美籍教师所授外语系英语专业课程当中,我切身体会到,外籍教师上课在方式方法上,有其明显的长处,综合起来有三个显著特点,即讲究实用性,注重启发性,颇有趣味性。结合外籍教师所任教的课,作点分析,或许对改进我们的英语教学会有所裨益。语言的首要功能是传递信息和交流思想。但许多人都有这种感觉:学了十几年英语,仍不能在面对外国人时进行自如的会话交流,不能准确地传词达意,更不用说在各种专业性会议上进行口头讨论了。多年来英语教学普遍存在一个问题:偏重于语言知识和功能的掌握,即:重书面轻实际,采用“块块式教学”方法,往往把活生生的语言搞得支离破碎。教师讲解课文时,句句作语法分析,生词
