“治天下以史为鉴,治郡国以志为鉴”。山西省历史悠久,文化灿烂,有编纂方志的优良传统。千百年来,山西的修志事业延绵相续,佳志迭出,对我国的地方志事业作出过重要贡献。早在先秦时期,山西就有与《鲁春秋》、《楚寿杌》齐名的古志《晋乘》。宋代以后,山西所修志书不论是数量还是质量,在全国均居显著地位。新中国的修志工作,山西也是全国开展得较早、较好的省份。中共十一届三中全会以后,山西又率先倡导修志,并于1980年开始了新方志的编纂工作。20年来,在各级党委和政府的领导和主持下,全省万余名修志工作者共同努力,辛勤劳动,使新编地方志工作取得了令人瞩目的成就。新编志书数量之多,范围之广,质量之高,在山西历史上是空前的。 “Treat the world as a mirror for history, rule the country to Chi as a lesson.” Shanxi Province has a long history and splendid culture with a fine tradition of compiling local records. For thousands of years, the cause of the rejuvenation of the mountain in Shanxi has grown in succession and has been splendidly chosen. As early as the pre-Qin period, there is an ancient saying “Jin-ji” that has the same name as “Lu Chun-qiu” and “Chu Shou-yi” in Shanxi. After the Song Dynasty, the records of Shanxi Province, both in quantity and quantity, have been prominent in the country. The work of building a new record in China, Shanxi is also an earlier and better province in China. After the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of CPC, Shanxi took the lead in advocating revisionism and started the compilation of the new chronicles in 1980. Over the past 20 years, under the leadership and auspices of the party committees and governments at all levels, more than 10,000 volunteers from the entire province have made concerted efforts and hard work, making remarkable achievements in the work of newly-created local chronicles. The number of new volunteers, a wide range of high quality, is unprecedented in the history of Shanxi.
