中国铁道建筑总公司(以下简称中国铁建)所属单位27个,其中,中国土木工程集团公司、中铁十一至二十五局集团有限公司、中铁建电气化局集团有限公司、中铁建设集团有限公司、铁道第一勘察设计院、铁道第四勘察设计院、铁道第五勘察设计院、上海铁路城市轨道交通设计研究院等为骨干企业,员工22万余人。中国铁建立足铁路,面向全国,跨国经营,是一个综合承包商。施工地域覆盖全国除台湾省外各省市自治区,在30多个国家和地区开展海外经营业务,专业领域几乎包括了基本建设的所有领域,覆盖44个专业。主业为相关工程技术研究、勘察、设计、施工、监理、技术咨询、专用设备制造、投融资和房地产开发经营。总公司现有工程总承包特级资质19个,工程总承包一级资质211个,工程专业承包一级资质398个,居全国之首。如今,在董事长、党委书记李国瑞和总经理金普庆的带领下,中国铁建实现了持续快速健康发展,资产总额已达820亿元。2005年,中国铁建新签合同额2009亿元,营业收入1158亿元,利税总额51亿元,分别是1984年兵改工时的200倍、95倍、110倍。2006年,中国铁建在世界企业500强排名第485位,在全球225家最大承包商中排名第7位,中国企业500强排名第20位,实现了历史性的跨越。
