有些习书者因未掌握结构方法,当其所书笔画已经有了一定模样后,写出的字在整体效果上却差强人意。主侧格是为帮助习字者掌握特定字体(包括隶、楷、行、草,不包括篆、黑体字、幼圆等字体)中汉字的结构方法,笔者在总结汉字结构规律的基础上设计的习字格式。主侧格的作用主要包括两个方面:用以表述汉字结构法则和帮助习字者掌握汉字结构法则。
