   Taki 183 is called the godfather of modern graffiti.Taki 183 is one of the most influential graffiti writers. His"tag" was short for Demetaki, a Greek alternative for hisbirth-name Demetrius, and the number 183 came fromhis address on 183rd Street in Washington Heights. Heworked as a foot messenger in New York City and wouldwrite his nickname around the New York streets that hefrequented during the late 1960s and early 1970s.
