In 1962, Imperial Chemical Industries and Monsanto began experimenting with direct digital control (DDC) methods in the factory. Using this method in process control, the computer calculates an actual valve position better than changing the analog controller’s setpoint. In a short period of time, DDC developed rapidly, aroused great interest of users and manufacturers. To this end, recently produced a special small, fast, reliable, inexpensive new computer series.
