Both of these are traditionally considered to be the same species, but recent studies suggest that they should be reclassified as two different species. Therefore, it is of new significance to further study the chemical components of Thyme. This paper reports the isolation of five new coumadins, a new indole alkaloid, and correction of the absolute steric conformation of the originally reported Murrangtnl (6a) and Minumicrolin (7a).
