长期以来,神经科学家认为,当我们休息时,大脑中的神经回路处于关闭状态。然而现已证实,当我们在休息时——比如坐在椅子上发呆、躺在床上睡觉,或接受了麻醉,大脑的各个脑区之间仍在不停地传递信息。这种不间断的信息传递被称作大脑的默认模式,它所消耗的能量是我们有意识地对其他外在刺激作出反应时所耗能量的20倍。实际上,我们有意识去做的大多数事件,比如吃饭和演讲等,都是对大脑默认模式下基准神经活动的背 Neuroscientists have long believed that the nerve circuit in the brain is turned off when we rest.
