薄荷别名水薄荷、鱼香草,属多年生宿根草本植物,具有芳香、清凉的特点。薄荷产品(薄荷脑和薄荷素油)具有特殊的芳香、辛辣感和清凉感,在医药上广泛用于祛风、防腐、消炎、镇痛、止痒、健胃等药品中。全草入药,有发汗、散风热和止痒等功效,适用于感冒发热、头痛、咽喉肿痛等症。
