最近学校里的一个关于雕塑与材料的科研课题,促使我通过过去的两件雕塑作品的创作过程梳理出一些雕塑创作中关于材料的认识。雕塑的外在表现形式无外乎造型和材料。但以我学习雕塑的体会,在刚刚进入雕塑系时接受的几乎完全是造型能力的训练。虽然用的是粘土这种材料,但也只是因为它便于塑形,做完后如需保留,绝大多数情况下必须通过翻制模具的工艺将其制成其他硬制材料的形式。所以泥这种材料只是一个过程媒介,而非雕塑呈现的最终材质。这种雕塑完全是以造型为出发点的,材料在雕塑表现中的作用可以说完全被隐没了。
A recent research project on sculptures and materials at school led me to sort out some of my knowledge on materials through the creative process of the past two sculptures. The external appearance of sculpture is nothing less than the shape and material. But in my experience of learning sculpture, I almost completely trained in style when I first entered the sculpture department. Although this material is clay, it is only because it is easy to shape and, if done, it needs to be retained. In most cases, it must be made into other hard materials by the process of turning the mold. So mud is a process medium rather than the final material of the sculpture. This sculpture is entirely based on the shape of the starting point, the role of materials in the performance of the sculpture can be completely hidden.
