The impact of common indoor air pollutants from gas stoves, wood stoves, fireplaces and ambient tobacco smoke on asthma symptoms has not been well characterized and the respiratory stimuli produced by these fuel sources for asthma patients are: Nitrogen dioxide, aldehydes, acids and particulate matter. This article analyzes indoor and outdoor exposures and measures the incidence of respiratory disease among adults with asthma who lived in Denver, Colorado, and the capital from 1987 to 1988. The diagnosis of asthma is based on a history, symptoms of airway obstruction, and confirmation of the reversibility of airway obstruction and the use of [beta] -reactive tracheal expander. asthma
