宁麦8号在10月15~25日播种产量最高,且其间差异不显著,11月5日播种显著减产,11月15日播种极显著减产。为有效利用冬前温光资源而获取高产,但又要避免或减轻冬前和早春冻害而达到稳产,其适宜播期为10月25日前后。宁麦8号春性较弱,前中期生长稳健,生育进程较慢,拔节抽穗期较迟,抗寒性明显强于扬麦158;宁麦8号的主要增产优势为矮秆抗倒和穗大粒多。为延长穗分化时间,提高幼穗分化强度及争得较高粒重,应适期早播并足肥争早发。
