When plasticity increment theory is used to describe the constitutive properties of rock, soil, concrete and certain composite materials, the following characteristics of these media must be considered: (1) the strain softening property; (2) the elastic coefficient changes with the development of plastic deformation. This is called elasto-plastic coupling; (3) The plastic potential function is different from the yield (or loading) function, and is usually called the non-associated flow law. For the above-mentioned geotechnical medium, tests are performed on a rigid tester to obtain all the stresses including the strengthening phase and the softening phase.
