为全面贯彻和实施素质教育,提高学生欣赏美和创造美的能力;增强学生的美感体验,开发学生的智力,培养学生开拓进取的精神;加强学校德育和美育工作,促进学生身心健康的发展,有必要对中学生进行美学教育,从而把美术、音乐等美学教育的作用更充分地显示出来。美术、音乐教育属于美学教育的一部分。不可否认,它们对培养人韵兴趣、陶冶人的情操、提高人的素质和审美能力具有重要的作用,但这种作用是潜在的、易被人忽略的,而且其作用范围狭小。此外,其形式虽是实践,但实质上仍脱离不了为学而学、为教而教的范畴。尽管有的学校把美术、音乐、劳技等搞得有声有色,但在学生的德育、智育等方面仍很欠缺。原因有三方面: 首先,有些学生上音乐、美术课不是为了获得教育,而是抱着娱乐、消遣甚至是休息的目的去欣赏,所以不可能完全感知到它们的美。音乐、美术要给人以教益,也要给人以乐趣,真正做到“寓教于乐”。如果不具备一定的美学知识是很难全面纠正这种倾向的,所以需要通过美学教育来深化和升华音乐

In addition, although its form is practice, it is still in essence not separated from the category of learning and teaching. Although some schools have made art, music, labor skills, etc. impressive, they still lack students’ moral education and intellectual education. There are three reasons for this: First of all, some students attend music and art classes not to obtain education, but to enjoy it with the purpose of entertainment, recreation, and even rest, so it is impossible to fully perceive their beauty. Music and fine arts must teach people, and they must also be fun, truly “education”. If you do not have a certain amount of aesthetic knowledge, it is difficult to fully correct this tendency, so you need to deepen and sublimate music through aesthetic education.
