The Japan Contract Cancer Conference was held in Tokyo from October 2nd to 7th, 1973. According to the Japanese Ministry of Health and Welfare, 127.299 people died of cancer in Japan in 1972. The project highlights of the meeting are as follows: New methods for the treatment of bladder cancer. This method is to first perform an anesthesia on the patient’s lower body, and then insert the catheter into the patient’s urethra, into 800 ~ 1000 ml of normal saline (equal to 2 to 3 times the amount of normal urine), so that it remains in the bladder for 4 to 5 hours. Because of the anesthetic, the patient will not have urine. Nor saline will not pour into the kidneys. The principle of this method is that salt water strongly compresses the bladder blood vessels, making blood circulation difficult.
