The authors study the relationship between poultry allergies and labor conditions and length of service. One thousand workers from two poultry meat and egg processing plants in the Soviet Union in Latvia were inspected and 100 healthy workers outside the factory were taken as control group. The subjects were divided into three groups: the first group consisted of 436 poultry workers who were mainly roosters, laying hens, chicks and hatchlings; the second group consisted of 464 members, including mechanics, vehicles, tractor rebuilding plants and construction teams Composed of the third group of 100 administrative staff. A survey of labor hygiene shows that the workshop has poor micro-climate and heavy manual labor. Workers are exposed mainly to mixed plant and animal dust (chicken fluff, feathers, hay and fodder), microorganisms and ammonia and SO2 formed during production.
