电影是在现代社会文化艺术传播中的重要载体与形式,字幕是其不可分割的组成部分。对于中国电影观众来说,观看英语电影很大程度上依赖于字幕翻译,字幕翻译的水平直接影响观众的观影效果。尤为重要的是,对于英语电影中出现的文化信息较为突出的关节点,如果字幕未能提供及时准确的信息,观众可能就会错过电影的重要情节,甚至造成整部电影的不完整性,影响电影的传播和观众的接受,这就给英语电影字幕翻译者提出了更大的挑战。
Movie is an important carrier and form of cultural and artistic communication in modern society. Subtitling is an integral part of it. For Chinese moviegoers, watching English movies relies heavily on subtitle translation, and the level of subtitle translation directly affects the viewing performance of the audience. More importantly, if the subtitles fail to provide accurate and timely information about the cultural spots appearing in English films, viewers may miss important cinematic circumstances and may even cause incompleteness and influence of the entire movie The spread of the movie and the acceptance of the audience, which poses a greater challenge to the English movie subtitle translator.
