In the study of terpenoid markers of low-maturity source rocks, some pentacyclic triterpenoids were detected and their distribution patterns were classified into four types: Type A - pentacyclic triterpenes with high abundance; B Type - with a high degree of C ~ * hopane; C - with a relative height of the rearranged hopane and 30-norene (C ~ * Ts) is characterized by; - unknown triterpenoid UCT2 and relatively high content of C ~ * hopane as a feature. The distribution pattern of these pentacyclic triterpenoids is influenced by such factors as source, diagenetic environment and maturity, but the difference is quite large, so geochemical information on source rocks can be provided. According to other geochemical and geochemical characteristics of source rocks, Type A indicates that source rocks are in an evolutionary stage with extremely low maturity.
