白萝卜是一种常见的蔬菜,生食熟食均可,其味略带辛辣味。现代研究认为,白萝卜含芥子油、淀粉酶和粗纤维,具有促进消化,增强食欲,加快胃肠蠕动和止咳化痰的作用。中医理论也认为该品味辛甘,性凉,入肺胃经,为食疗佳品,可以治疗或辅助治疗多种疾病,本草纲目称之为“蔬中最有利者”。所以,白萝卜在临床实践中有一定的药用价值。如今,萝卜凭着自身皮薄、肉嫩、多汁,味甘不辣,木质素少,嚼而无渣等优点已经蜚声海内外。“萝卜响,咯嘣脆,吃了能活百来岁”等谚语也早就流传开来。
