A rapid and facile preparation of benzo-[b]-pyran derivatives through condensation of chalcone and 5, 5-dimethyl-1,3-cyclohexandione under microwave irradiation in the presence of catalytic amount of InCl3·4H2O has been developed. With its high efficiency, operational simplicity and environmental benignancy, this method may provide a useful alternative for the preparation of benzo-[b]-pyran derivatives.
A rapid and facile preparation of benzo- [b] -pyran derivatives through condensation of chalcone and 5, 5-dimethyl-1,3-cyclohexandione under microwave irradiation in the presence of catalytic amount of InCl3 · 4H2O has been developed.
