五星花(Pentas Ianceolata),茜草科五星花属植物,又称繁星花、埃及众星花。多年生直立或下部匍地、被毛亚灌木,高30～60厘米。叶对生,浅绿色,膜质,卵形、椭圆形或披针状矩圆形,长4～15厘米,宽1～5厘米,先端渐尖,基部渐狭而成一短柄,有毛。伞房花序顶生或腋生,每花序有花20朵或以上;花筒长2～4厘米,花冠5裂,呈五星状,故名五星花;花色有白、粉红、红、紫堇、紫红等,品种较多,花期夏、秋季,如栽培得当可常年开花。
