Objective To observe the application of modern wound care concept in traditional dressing change room. Methods Sixty patients admitted from September 2015 to September 2016 in our outpatient clinic were randomly divided into control group and observation group, with 30 cases in each group. The control group used the traditional concept of single wound care. The observation group used the concept of modern wound care to compare the degree of wound pain, the time of wound healing, the rate of wound healing, the frequency of dressing change to the hospital and the degree of patient satisfaction. Results Compared with the control group, the wound healing in the observation group was significantly reduced compared with that in the control group. The wound healing time in the observation group was lower than that in the control group. The frequency of dressing change in the observation group was less than that in the control group. The satisfaction of the observation group was better than that of the control group. The differences between the two groups were statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusions The concept of modern wound care in traditional dressing rooms enables a comprehensive assessment of the patient’s wounds, diversified nursing interventions, reduced patient wound healing time, improved patient satisfaction and is worthy of clinical promotion.
