鲁迅作为过渡时代的作家 ,同时受到民族、西方、现实等文化的影响 ,因而 ,我们不能仅仅看到西方文化给鲁迅的文化心理所带来的变化 ,也应看到民族传统文化在鲁迅心理上的积淀。鲁迅在面对自己、时代和文艺时所采取的务实态度 ,就体现着儒家传统中的尚用思想。鲁迅在五四时期对待儒家传统问题上的激进表现 ,实际上只是为了实现某种并不激进的历史目的的务实选择 ;鲁迅在许多问题上都不肯调和 ,与儒家的“好善而恶恶 ,是是而非非”的“中道”思想关系极大 ;鲁迅在文艺上强调社会功能与审美价值的统一 ,但这种统一又是认为文艺的历史功能应该在审美的构架中来实现。在文艺自身的这两种因素中 ,历史功能是重心 ,审美价值是手段
