当代美国诗坛的一个重要特征是风格流派的多元化。建立起自己的风格特色,乃至形成一个流派,几乎是每一个诗人的梦想。美国思想文化较欧洲其它国家更为开放,也很少传统的因袭,因此在二战后诗坛上颇为活跃,流派蜂起,风格纷呈,比如,以奥尔森为代表的黑山派,以金斯伯格为代表的垮掉派,以罗伯特·洛厄尔为代表的自白派,以勃莱为代表的新超现实主义,和以奥哈拉、阿什贝利为代表的纽约派,都令人眩目,各领风骚。读外国诗,不能忽略美国诗歌;读美国诗,如果按照流派有系统地读,收效也许会更好。
An important feature of contemporary American poetry is the diversity of genres. Establish their own style and characteristics, and even the formation of a genre, almost every poet’s dream. American ideology and culture are more open than other countries in Europe and seldom follow the tradition. Therefore, after the Second World War, the poetry circles are quite active, schools are beeing forth and the style is colorful. For example, Montenegro, represented by Olsen, The Beatles represented by Lattice, the Conservatives represented by Robert Lowell, the new Surrealism represented by Bribe, and the New York School represented by O’Hara and Ashley Bailey are both Dazzling, all leading position. Reading foreign poetry can not ignore American poetry; reading American poetry, if read systematically by genre, may yield better results.
