《高中英语新课程标准》是指导我国高中英语教学的唯一依据,然而,面对基础条件参差不齐的众多中学以及成绩与能力高低不一的亿万学生,《标准》不可能完全符合每个学校的实际,这就要求在具体实施过程中,不同学校应根据自身的实际情况采取相应的策略。复合分层教学是根据《标准》的要求,结合县市非重点中学的实际进行高中英语教学的有效途径。
