Based on the theory of transaction cost and integrating the concept of resource base, franchising can be regarded as an intermediary organization from a new analytical framework of “enterprise-intermediate organization-market”. Franchised franchises have advantages that are unmatched in other formats: specific property rights can reduce agency costs, supervise costs, address incentive issues; special promotions and distribution methods, and transactions within the franchise system, all of which can reduce transaction costs.
