陈雁教授的《性别与战争:上海1932-1945》是一部资料详实、论证严谨的著作,每章以具体的人物或事件作为切入点,探讨事件背后的社会背景,并阐释性别与战争之间的联系与隐喻。在问题意识与创新之处上,该书没有继承“国家兴亡,匹夫有责”的传统女性战争史的写作套路,而是从性别的角度对民族和民族主义展开新的分析。在理论方法上,运用了社会性别理论,展现上海女性在战争中记忆与体验。在资料上,使用档案、报刊、图片、专著等多种资料,其中口述资料的运用是一亮点。战争并没让女性走开,女性也是战争中的一份子,从性别的角度出发去反思其行为,可以提供一个重新关照生命的契机。当今我们安宁生活来之不易,应当珍惜。
