Definitions and Concepts Hairy cell leukemia (HGL) is a rare chronic proliferative disorder characterized by pancytopenia, splenomegaly, and abnormal mononuclear cells found in the blood, bone marrow, lymph nodes and spleen. Due to the widespread wrinkling of the surface of such abnormal cells, Hairy call (HG) is formed under the light microscope to form specific hair-like cytoplasmic protrusions. Such a cell surface wrinkling phenomenon, in normal or neoplastic lymphatic usually can not see, so in terms of structure and function, HG is a unique cell component, it is now known with the lymphatic network Other normal or abnormal cells of the system are different. Since Bouroncle was equivalent to a HGL application in 1958, the nomenclature used was rather mixed due to inconsistent naming and the lack of appropriate clinical and pathological diagnostic criteria
