目前,在侧重专业教育和操作技能的技工学校,数学教学尚缺乏教育意识,把数学教学只看成是学习专业基础课、专业课、操作技能的需要,在教学中偏重于知识的传授和特定能力的培养,因而导致严重的实用主义倾向和短期行为,没有发挥数学在教学中的德育功能,未能很好地认识到数学教学在教育中的重要作用。因此,加强数学教学的教育性,逐步地、有层次地通过数学教学对学生进行素质教育,使毕业生成为品德高尚,技能精湛,符合社会需要的职业技术人才,这是当前和今后技校教育改革重要课题之一。
