吴的《五声反切正韵》作于 1 8世纪中叶。在该著中 ,吴以时音为据作正韵 ;而这时音应该主要是以南京方言为根据。虽然受到了异时异地音系的影响 ,但吴在很多方面相当忠实地记录了南京方言音系的一些特点 :-m尾韵的消失 ,- n、 - 的合流 ,-an、 -en的分合 ,“格”、“觉”两个入声韵无舒声韵相配的特点 ,等等。他的描写可以使我们对 1 8世纪的南京方言有进一步的了解
Wu Mi’s “five-tone inverse is rhyme” made in the mid-18th century. In this book, Wu Kui is based on the sound of time as a rhyme; and at this time the tone should be mainly based on the Nanjing dialect. Although influenced by different phonological systems at different times, Wu Kui quite faithfully records some characteristics of the phonetics of Nanjing dialect in many aspects: the disappearance of the end rhyme of m, the confluence of n, n, the convergence of -an, -en Divided, “grid”, “feel” into the two rhyme rhyme no match, and so on. His description will give us a better understanding of the Nanjing dialect of the 18th century
