《马达汉西域考察日记1906—1908》是马达汉以芬兰男爵的身份,接受俄军总参谋部的指示,到中国西北搜集军事、政治和社会情报等的探险活动。马达汉历时两年横穿八省行程14000公里,既搜集并撰写了重要的军事报告,还给世人留下了大量旅行日记、珍贵图片和古代文物等有价值的科考资料,对我们认识和研究清末中国的社会有重要的参考价值。本文拟对该书做一简要评述。
Madhya Praetorian Diaries 1906-1908 is an expedition to the northwestern part of China that collects military, political and social intelligence from Madhavan in the capacity of the Baron of Finland, under instructions from the General Staff of the Russian Army. For two years, Madhan crossed 14,000 kilometers of eight provinces and collected and wrote important military reports. It also left a wealth of travel expeditions, precious pictures and ancient cultural relics to the world, There is an important reference value for studying the society of China in the late Qing Dynasty. This article intends to make a brief review of the book.
