Methods A total of 1297 Air Force pilots who joined the army in 1991 were tested with the Self-rating Symptom Inventory. The results of the survey were compared with those of several domestic studies. Results showed that the frequency distribution decreased gradually with the increase of SCL-90 score and factor score. More than 92% of new flight attendants were assessed as normal mental health status. The top three factors of frequency score ≥2 were Interpersonal sensitivity, coercion, paranoid, etc .; total score, total score, the number of positive items and positive equal number of several statistical indicators, the new flight trainees were significantly lower than the rest of the domestic population. The conclusions suggest that the newly enrolled pilots have better physical and mental health than the rest of the population, and the interpersonal relationships among the pilots should deserve attention
