Vical and Merck have agreed to work together to develop a new vaccine that may prevent the spread of infectious diseases over the next decade - by directly injecting the antigen-encoding gene into the patient’s body. Initial work will focus on demonstrating that gene injection technology developed by Vical can be used for vaccination.
