Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a key regulator for morphogenesis during embryonic development and the essential contribution of the EMT to carcinoma progression is the loss of their epithelial characters, gain of mesenchymal marker expression, acquisition of migration, invasive activity and capability to pass through the basement membrane.Chromatin remodeling pathways are critical in the regulation of cancer-related genes and are currently being explored as potential targets for therapeutic intervention.
