The aim of the current work is to determine whether the documented induction of cucumber seedlings tolerance to Ca(NO3)2 stress by graft with pumpkin is associated with the protection of antioxidant enzymes and photosynthetic fluorescence characteristics. The greenhouse experiments were carried out to determine antioxidant enzymes activities, gas exchange and photosystem Ⅱ (PS Ⅱ) efficiency of self-grafted or pumpkin-grafted (hereafter referred to as rootstock-grafted) cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.cv.Jinyou No.3) plants.
