Head and neck cancer (HNC) is the sixth most common cancer and is responsible for almost 200,000 deaths worldwide each year. Both local regional recurrences and lymph node metastasis (LNM) are associated with a poor prognosis. The 5-year survival rate of HNC is less than 50% for patients with LNM; therefore, early detection and targeted treatment of LNM may benefit the patient to improve survival.Using a metastatic xenograft mouse model, we previously identified several metastasis-related proteins.
