  Ultrathin broadband optical absorbers have important applications in many fields,including photovoltaics,photothermovoltaics,and nanostructure-assisted ablation and ionizations [1].To date,various designs have been reported to achieve high optical absorption,such as nanowires array,nanotube forests,nanovoids,nanogrooves,and metal-insulator-metal(MIM)structures,etc.However,those absorbers are either thick or narrow band.To tackle this issue,in this work,we investigate the optical property of MIM structures and show that with specially designed plasmonic nanocompoistes,the bandwidth of MIM can be greatly improved.
