Renal sympathetic hyperactivity plays a crucial pathogenetic role in the maintenance and progression of arterial hypertension.As a novel device-based approach targeting the renal sympathetic nerves, renal denervation (RDN) has been shown to be effective and safe in reducing sympathetic nerve activity, norepinephrine spillover as well as blood pressure.
