In the present study,waste bone(pig bone)derived catalysts were synthesized and explored as cost-effective and stable catalysts for the ultrasonic-assisted transesterification of palm oil.These catalysts were characterized in detail by XRD,XRF,BET analysis,and Hammett indicator.Under ultrasonic conditions,the catalytic activity of calcined bone(CB)could be enhanced significantly compared to the traditional magnetically stirred method.The maximum yield of biodiesel could reach 92%under the optimal condition of reaction time of 140 min,methanol-to-oil ratio of 15:1,catalyst loading of 12 wt.%,ultrasonic power of 60%(120W).Reusability of the catalysts was also tested and the result indicated that ultrasonic waves also could improve the stability of the catalyst.
