Since ancient times, China has a very close relationship with the Korean Peninsula and has a huge traditional strategic security interest in the Korean Peninsula. In the traditional international order in East Asia, Japan was the first challenger. Its stage of activity expanded from the Japanese archipelago to the mainland through the Korean Peninsula, through which the political, economic, cultural and technological ties with the mainland took place . Due to the recent implementation of “mainland policy” in Japan, China attaches great importance to the geopolitical role of the Korean Peninsula in resisting Japan’s outward expansion. In modern times, it is not from the European and American powers but from the neighboring Japan that the traditional ties between China and North Korea are cut off. From the perspective of the relations among the great powers in East Asia today, the Korean Peninsula remains an area to be valued.
