B cells present lipid antigens to CDld-restricted invariant natural killer T (iNKT) cells to maintain autoimmune tolerance, and this process is disrupted in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).Inflammation may inhibit CD l d expression to exacerbate the pathology of lupus. However, how inflammation regulates CDld expression on B cells is unclear in SLE.Here we showed that the surface expression of CDld on splenic B cells from MRL-lpr/lpr mice at 24 weeks was decreased compared with that of B cells from healthy controls.
