北京市文物研究所在1998年9～10月进行考古发掘的元左丞相耶律铸夫妇合葬墓,位于颐和园昆明湖东岸,耶律楚材祠东南,出土了大量陶俑、瓷器、石器、铜器等珍贵文物。由于该墓具有十分重要的历史价值和旅游价值,颐和园管理处决定将墓室部分原址保留。1999年颐和园管理处在该墓地上部分兴建陈列馆,墓室部分遂成为地下室内陈列(图片1,图一)。
