Black-bone silky fowl (BSF),a unique breed of chicken in China,has attracted peoples attention for its specific medicinal value and nutritional functions.It has showed that BSF contains a large amount of melanin which is one of the most important active compounds responsible for its unique functions.Currently.the quantitative study of BSF melanin still universally relies on the gravimetric method,which actually has little application value due to its low accuracy.Data showed that BSF melanin presents in the form of indole eumelanin.
