Objective The Screen for Cognitive Impairment in Psychiatry (SCIP;Purdon,2005) is a brief assessment scale designed for evaluating cognitive impairment in psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia,biopolar and other disorders.The application of SCIP requires just about 15 minutes with a pencil and a piece of paper.There are five subscales altogether:immediate verbal list learning,working memory,verbal fluency,delayed list learning and visual-motor tracking.Studies have showed in recent years that it has adequate reliability and validity in schizophrenia and type Ⅰ bipolar disorder in English and Spanish version (Purdon SE,2005;Rojo et al.,2009).In this study,we examined to compare the psychometric properties of the SCIP between Chinese and English version.
