Both anthropogenic activities and climate change could dramtically affect the biogeochemical processes of natural wetlands methanogenesis.Chinese natural wetlands vanished significantly during passed decades majorly caused by human activities.Quantifying the impacts of changing climate and wetland area on wetland CH4 emissions in China is important for improving our knowledge of CH4 budgets locally and globally.However, it is uncertain about their respective and combined effects.Here, we have incorporated remotely sensed wetland area changes into a dynamic CH4 model of TRIPLEX-GHG to quantify the contributions of both human-induced and climate change to methane emissions from Chinese natural wetlands over the past three decades.
